Rustic Rails
are the most
common rails for stockade fence. They are slightly
rough on the curved side, and will often have a taper to
them i.e. the thickness can vary throughout the rail, as
well as vary slightly from rail to rail.

Molded Dowel Rails
will be found
on all types of fences. These are great for spaced
fences because they are smooth on all sides and have a
nice curve to them. These rails generally measure
1-3/4" x 2-3/4".

2

look. These rails are smooth on all 4 sides and
measure 1-1/2" x 3-1/2".

5/4" x 4" Rails
are used on our universal style panels. These panels
are framed on both sides using this rail and are the most
aesthetically pleasing cedar panels as there is no "bad"
or "rail" side. These rails are also used on our
chestnut hill panels, using similar construction.
